چکیده
A thirteen years old male patient of i was referred to our Dermatology D knees and hands. Patient was blind since birth and diagnosis of “retinitis pigmentosa” Ophthalmology Department. He was investigated and found raised levels of blood sugar, triglycerides, VLDL, TSH, SGOT/PT and kidney functions tests. He was diagnosed as a case of eruptive xanthomas with retinitis pigmentosa in secondary hyperlipidemia. We because of the rare associations.

Eruptive xanthomas
Xanthomas are localized lipid deposits in the skin, tendons and subcutaneous tissue associated with lipid abnormality. The hyperlipidemia responsible for this disorder can be caused by a primary genetic defect, a secondary disorder, or both. That kind of skin exanthema may be the first signal of cardiovascular risk. We present a 24-year-old woman with a skin eruption that had appeared a few mon...
متن کاملEruptive xanthomas and acute pancreatitis in a patient with hypertriglyceridemia
Acute pancreatitis and eruptive xanthomas are the only recognised direct complications of severe hypertriglyceridaemia. We present the case of a 33-years old male patient in whom the onset of a type 2 diabetes, added to an unknown familial hyperlipidemia, precipitated a dramatic raise of serum triglyceride levels, that cause in turn an acute pancreatitis and the appearance of dermic eruptive xa...
متن کاملEruptive xanthomas masquerading as molluscum contagiosum.
Eruptive xanthomas are cutaneous manifestations of hyperlipidemias in which lipids accumulate in large foam cells within the skin. They classically present as crops of 1- to 4-mm yellow-orange papules and are often associated with extreme hypertriglyceridemia. We describe a 12-year-old boy with autism who was thought to have widespread molluscum contagiosum for a year before dermatologic consul...

The two-year-old tattoos on his right leg were covered by a linear arrangement of papules, suggesting a Koebner phenomenon (Figure 1A). A biopsy from the lesions on the tattoos showed infil...
متن کاملEvidence for the chylomicron origin of lipids accumulating in diabetic eruptive xanthomas: a correlative lipid biochemical, histochemical, and electron microscopic study.
Plasma lipoprotein alterations in nine insulin-dependent diabetics with hyperlipemia have been related to the lipid accumulating in eruptive xanthomas evolving in these patients. Histochemical and electron microscopic examination of xanthomas have been correlated with the lipid analyses in order to obtain additional evidence regarding the lipoprotein origin of lipids accumulating in the lesions...
